Northminster Early Childhood Center provides one 20-minute Music class per week for each classroom.  The main goal is for the children to enjoy music and have it become a pleasant part of their lives.  Music classes are a mixture of singing, dancing and movement, playing rhythm instruments, and listening.  The children also experience music from different cultures. 

 

We present two concerts each year to highlight what the children have done-one during the Holidays in December, and one in late spring.  In addition to the standard rhythm instruments, the children enjoy playing handbells. We have a few new additions to our regular instrument “inventory” which include resonator bells, a cabasa, and a kalimba.  Lessons also coordinate with the classroom curriculum whenever possible.
