Music Education
Music Enrichment & Celebrations
At Northminster Early Childhood Center, each classroom enjoys a 30-minute Music class once per week, led by a dedicated music instructor. Our music program is designed to inspire a lifelong appreciation for music and to make it a joyful, meaningful part of each child’s early education.
Music classes include a variety of engaging, developmentally appropriate activities such as:
-
Singing and vocal exploration
-
Creative movement and dance
-
Playing rhythm instruments and handbells
-
Listening exercises that introduce different musical styles and instruments
-
Exposure to music and traditions from around the world
Music instruction is often integrated with classroom themes to reinforce learning across subjects in a fun, expressive way.
To showcase their progress, children participate in two performances each year:
-
A Holiday Concert in December
-
A Spring Concert in late May or early June
In addition to our music performances, students enrolled in our Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program participate in a special Graduation Ceremony each June. A joyful celebration of their accomplishments and readiness for kindergarten.
